ZKickoff vs LeagueApps
LeagueApps is a multi-sport registration, payments and membership platform. ZKickoff is soccer-first: it runs the competition itself around a live digital referee report — and its registration is guest and passwordless, with no platform fee added at checkout (you connect your own Stripe). Use ZKickoff on its own, or alongside LeagueApps for org-wide, multi-sport membership.
How they work together
Keep LeagueApps for org-wide, multi-sport registration, payments and member management. Add — or switch to — ZKickoff to run the soccer competition: a verified referee report, live standings and brackets, a coach tactics board, and registration that needs no account and adds no platform fee.

| Capability | ZKickoff | LeagueApps (typical) |
|---|---|---|

| Free-agent & team registration | Yes — register a player or a whole team | Yes — free agent or team captain |
| Digital referee report in the core product | Yes — live, offline, QR, PDF/API | Scheduling & scorekeeping focus; a referee report is not the core |

| Own-data API + natural-language “ask your event” | Yes | Not found in public materials |
We compare ZKickoff’s own feature set against each vendor’s publicly available product pages as of the last-reviewed date. “(typical)” describes the common pattern we observed, which can vary by product and plan; “Not found in public materials” means we did not see the capability documented publicly — not that it can’t exist. Vendors evolve — verify current specifics with each provider.

FAQ
Do players or coaches need an account to register on ZKickoff?
No. ZKickoff registration is guest and passwordless — a registrant enters an email (used for their confirmation and to manage the entry later via a secure email link), and that’s it. There’s no account or password to create before registering, unlike a LeagueApps registration, which prompts you to create a LeagueApps account first.
Does ZKickoff add a processing fee like LeagueApps?
No. ZKickoff adds no platform or processing fee on top of registration — you connect your own Stripe account (Stripe Connect) and the money settles directly to you, so you pay only Stripe’s standard card-processing rate. On the LeagueApps flow we reviewed, a processing fee (4.3% on that tournament) is added at checkout.
Do we have to replace LeagueApps to use ZKickoff?
No. Many organizations keep LeagueApps for org-wide, multi-sport registration and membership and add ZKickoff for the soccer match layer — verified referee reports, live standings, brackets and public pages. You can also run soccer registration on ZKickoff directly when you want the no-account, no-added-fee flow. They complement each other.
