Players, referees & individual coaches are free
Only the organizer — or a club/academy running its own program — pays. Individual coaches, players and referees join with a magic link at no cost, which is how the whole community ends up on one record.
Processing fees & taxes are separate
If you collect fees online, the payment processor's per-transaction fee (Stripe) is separate from your plan; cash/offline payments you record have none. Any applicable local taxes are separate from the estimate and shown before you pay.
Renew per season or event — no lock-in to start
Your first event is free with no card. Leagues renew each season and tournaments are per event, so there's nothing to cancel if you don't continue — you choose to run the next one.

Why don’t you list a price?
Because the right plan depends on your teams, divisions, venues and referee load — a rec league of one division and a multi-venue tournament are very different to run. Rather than a one-size-fits-all sticker, the estimate returns a figure shaped to how you actually operate.
What does the 2-minute estimate return, and is it binding?
You answer a few questions about your competition and get an indicative estimate right away. It’s a starting point, not a binding quote — we confirm the scope with you before anything is charged.
Leagues vs tournaments — how is it billed?
Leagues bill per recurring season: you renew each season and carry teams and rosters forward. Tournaments bill per event: run a single cup or an annual series — nothing recurs unless you run another event.
Do players, coaches or referees ever pay?
No. Coaches, players and referees always use ZKickoff free. Only the organizer running the competition has a plan.
How do card-processing fees and taxes work?
If you collect registration or team fees online, the payment processor (Stripe) charges a per-transaction fee that is separate from your ZKickoff plan. Offline/cash payments you record yourself carry no processing fee. Any applicable local taxes are separate from the estimate and shown before you pay.
When does a free event need to upgrade?
When you go past 8 teams or add a second division, add multiple venues or advanced scheduling, collect fees online, or remove the “Powered by ZKickoff” badge / sponsor slots.
