The match report is the source of truth for a competition. On paper it arrives late, gets re-keyed, and drifts from the standings. Digitised properly, it becomes the one record everything else derives from.
Pre-fill, then capture
A good report opens with both rosters and jersey numbers already loaded, so the official captures goals, cards and substitutions by tapping, not typing.
It has to work offline on a patchy pitch and sync when signal returns — a report that needs a connection is a report that fails on match day.
One record, everything downstream
When the official submits, the score, timeline, standings, bracket, discipline and player stats should all update from that single record — no duplicate entry.
Every change is tracked, so a correction is an auditable amendment, not a silent overwrite.
